Once again, I was a judge at the Van Nuys Menudo Festival Battle of the bands contest. Seemed very Ska heavy. I had a great time time being part of it all and gorged on enough food to cause a heart attack. The winning band this year was DYM. The band won $500 that will go towards a recording session. they were very together, very tight, and could really carry a crowd. They also had to fill some time whcich they stepped up to like pro's with covers from "rage" and "Penneywise". A Lot of talent is coming out of that 2 sq. mile city. The favorite though, was a group of kids called "The Archies". A lot of guitar noise and weird rhythms. A cross between the white stripes and Mars Volta. If you ever get a chance, check'em out. See you there next year...maybe

Also, I recently rediscovered a band that I think you will like. www.demeter.com . Very cool sounding stuff and they will have a new album out soon.

My family unfortunately lost a member due to a tragic fate. My uncle Alfonso passed away very recently due to faulty wiring in an electric drill.

He was that family member that made it hard for you to get to know. He was also becoming the person again that my mother knew as a child...comic, friendly and warm hearted. I wanted to get to know him, in due time, but, sadly that will never be.

Continuation of recording until my computer had just about had it, ready for greener pastures, but not really. I have purchased a new computer thanks to the good people at Dell . Unfortunatley, the frustrating people at *unnamed* will not continue support for Windows XP.

So begins the file transfer and search for a new soundcard/interface. Music, however , sounds great, needing a proper mix. Can't wait to share.

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a good one. I however, had a nice...unquiet...time at home to continue working on the album. Things are coming together. Soon I will have things worked out, ready to re-record, mix and master, assuming that hardware functions correctly (I need to get a Mac with the new version of Logic 7, a G5 1.8 gb processor running 1 GB of ram in cerulean blue and chrome all over, ten inch white walls with frosted tips...oh ,wait). I am also working on concepts and design for a new "band/music" website. New music will be posted in the coming weeks.

Judging the Van Nuys "Battle of the Bands" held for local bands in the area. had a great time, ate some great food and heard some really good music as part of the Menudo Festival held every year. The "Battle" was a new installment that the city would like to continue in the coming years. The winners recieved $500 and an interview with Warner television, so congratulations to "EXTL" ( click here for band photo). Also, I really recommend checking out "new age disorder" and "mind set's a threat", two really great bands that also performed. Good luck to all and keep making some really great music.

Its too damn hot ....92-103 degrees...... Songwriting. Working on a song to sell to publishing house. Pop/rock. Sounding good.

Working on songs for a new album and I got stuck in the structure of one that was giving me trouble. Tried a few things and went in a weird direction. I had written some lyrics for it, but while playing it back, my girlfriend Holly read out some lyrics she was working on herself. Both our lyrics were opn the same page and fit the melody I was working with. Serendipity is good and the song sounds great. More recording needs to be done and rewriting of a chrous. About ten other songs are still in need of refining and editing before I get to rerecording tracks.

New clip posted. I saw/heard a car commercial and thought I could do better. Just think of a really fast car making hard turns....

Back in town. My girlfriend and I had a great time. Fell in love with San Francisco. I want to move there now. Did a lot of walking. Post pics up soon.
